Medical Marijuana Revived in Kansas Senate

The Kansas Cannabis Business Association is proud to announce the news of medical marijuana’s warm reintroduction to the Senate Committee this week. With final revisions being made to SB No. 158 including a title change, we are receiving overwhelming support from the legislators who will ultimately decide its fate. No one can predict the future, but to us it’s looking very bright— and rightfully so.

Our team has been working with other groups, associations and lobbyists day in and day out to form Kansas’ medical marijuana program into what it is today. From HB 2740 to SB 158 to this newly revised copy of a bill, KSCBA has played a major role in creating this program from the very beginning. For that, we owe all of the credit to our Founder and CEO, Erin Montroy. Alongside her, our other executives haven’t skipped a beat since day one with their feet in the state building almost every single day, and it shows. Now that we’re rounding the bend and entering the last leg of the race, so to speak, the excitement is high.

In summary, we want to thank you for prioritizing this initiative and growing and learning with us along the way. The next couple weeks look oh-so-promising and we are eager to share news on the progress as it rolls in. Stay tuned for more on possible bill revisions, public hearings and other various legislative updates as we highlight Kansas’ regulated cannabis market debut.
